Michael Owen backs Rafael Benitez to succeed

Stoke City striker Michael Owen states his belief that Rafael Benitez will win trophies if given enough time by Chelsea.

Michael Owen has tipped Rafael Benitez to build a team capable of winning the Premier League title at Chelsea.

Benitez's appointment at Stamford Bridge in November was met with a lot of resistance from Chelsea supporters, who refused to let go of the rivalry that he had with the Blues during his stint in charge of Liverpool.

However, following today's 8-0 victory over Aston Villa, Owen feels that Benitez will deliver the trophies if given the chance to succeed.

"Rafa out? Not convinced he will consistently deliver 'Guardiola' style football like the Owner craves but I'm sure he will deliver a team capable of winning the league again given some time," Owen wrote on Twitter.

Today's victory was the firs thatt Benitez had recorded at home in the Premier League since taking over the club.
