Andre Schurrle: 'Chelsea must fight for title'

Andre Schurrle urges his Chelsea teammates to "fight" for the Premier League title this season.

Chelsea winger Andre Schurrle has urged his teammates to "fight" for the Premier League title this season.

The Blues are among the favourites to be crowned champions following a summer spending spree that saw them sign, among others, Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas.

However, Schurrle believes that Chelsea must battle throughout the course of the campaign if they want to lift the Premier League trophy in May.

"We need to fight for the points," he told the club's official website. "Every match in the Premier League is very difficult, we saw that last season when we had many games away from home when we weren't playing at our top level and we didn't win them. We need to fight for every ball and show the quality we have."

Chelsea start the new season on Monday when they travel to newly-promoted Burnley.
