Chelsea XI see off MK Dons

Nathan Ake and Tammy Abraham find the net as Chelsea fight back to claim a 2-1 win over MK Dons in a friendly.

A Chelsea XI have come from behind to earn a 2-1 victory over MK Dons in a friendly at Stadium mk this evening.

The Blues made a strong start to the match and Jeremie Boga saw an effort tipped over the bar by Cody Cropper, before the keeper saved a shot from Oriol Romeu.

Nathaniel Chalobah was next to threaten for the visitors, but his long-range effort was kept out by Cropper.

Despite the pressure from the visitors, it was the Dons who took the lead in the 29th minute when Tom Hitchcock fired in after Kabongo Tshimanga's shot had been parried.

Chelsea were not behind for long, as seven minutes later Boga saw his strike spilled by the keeper and Nathan Ake followed up to tap in from close range.

Tammy Abraham was brought on for the Blues at half time and the 17-year-old soon gave his side the lead with a powerful header from Ake's cross.

Romeu then almost scored a third goal for the visitors, but his powerful strike from range flew narrowly over the bar.

Chelsea continued to threaten and John Swift's attempt from the edge of the box forced Cropper into a save.

The hosts almost grabbed a late equaliser when Tshimanga's effort was saved and Harry Hickford saw his header from the rebound blocked on the line by Fikayo Tomori, as the Blues held on to claim the win.
