Chelsea's backroom staff are openly talking about getting the axe at the end of the season as doubts grow over Maurizio Sarri's long-term future, according to a report.

Maurizio Sarri's backroom team are reportedly convinced that they will be on their way out of Chelsea at the end of the season.

The 60-year-old has spent less than a year at Stamford Bridge, having been lured from Napoli after guiding the club to a second-place finish in Serie A last season.

Sarri has found himself under constant pressure over the last five months, despite his side being the frontrunners to finish in a Champions League qualification spot ahead of Arsenal and Manchester United.

Chelsea are also through to the semi-finals of the Europa League, with a double-header against Eintracht Frankfurt to come over the next fortnight.

That has not stopped speculation that Sarri could be sacked in the summer, though, with The Sun reporting that the Italian's backroom team are openly talking about getting the axe.

Sarri has confessed that he is unsure about his long-term future at Stamford Bridge following Monday's 2-2 home draw with Burnley.
