Atletico Madrid reportedly identify Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas as a potential target for the January transfer window.

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has reportedly emerged as a potential transfer target for Atletico Madrid.

Fabregas has enjoyed four successful years at Stamford Bridge, and the Spaniard has recently spoken about his enjoyment from playing under new boss Maurizio Sarri.

However, the 31-year-old currently finds himself out of the starting lineup in the Premier League, and according to The Mirror, Atletico have started to weigh up a move.

Fabregas currently has less than a year remaining on his contract and as it stands, Atletico would be able to secure a pre-contract agreement with Fabregas from the start of 2019.

A January move may also not be out of the question, with Chelsea potentially being open to cashing in on the playmaker should they not agree a new deal.
