Chelsea midfielder Harvey Vale is allegedly attracting widespread interest in his signature ahead of the January transfer window.

Chelsea midfielder Harvey Vale will reportedly not be short of offers during the January transfer window.

Having made his senior debut under Thomas Tuchel during 2021-22, Vale's career had been expected to remain on an upward trajectory.

However, the academy graduate has found himself in limbo since the summer with no suitable proposals arriving his way during that part of the year.

Vale was provided with his first outing under Enzo Maresca on Thursday night as Chelsea recorded a 3-1 victory over Astana in the Conference League.

Nevertheless, it appears that it will not lead to an extended stay in the first-team ranks heading in 2025.

Foreign interest in Vale

According to the Daily Mail, interest is growing in Vale's signature ahead of the next transfer window.

With the versatile Englishman's contract expiring at the end of the season, co-owners Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital will be realistic regarding the level of fee that they can generate for his services.

In nine appearances for the Under-21s this season, Vale has impressively contributed six goals and four assists, showcasing that he still has the potential to succeed elsewhere.

The report suggests, though, that he is attracting a wide range of admirers on the continent, who will have the option of whether they want to try to sign him in January or discuss a pre-contract agreement.

From Chelsea's perspective, they will be eager to ensure that they can negotiate a January exit, even if it comes in the form of a cut-price fee with clauses.

Potential benefit for interested clubs?

Furthermore, it is alleged that Vale has the option of applying for an Irish passport, which would increase his chances of moving to one of European football's higher-profile leagues that possess restrictions over non-EU players.

Much may depend on how ambitious Vale wants to be. Last season, he was playing League One football on loan at Bristol Rovers where he made 39 appearances.

Preceding that, however, just three outings came during a loan stint with Championship side Hull City, putting his development back a level.
