Chelsea make £20m bid for Nemanja Matic?

Nemanja Matic could be on his way back to Chelsea, who have made a bid for his signature, according to a report.

Chelsea have reportedly made a £20m bid for Benfica midfielder Nemanja Matic.

The Blues signed the Serbia international in 2009, but he made just two appearances before leaving in 2011.

Since then he has impressed with his performances in Portugal, attracting interest from clubs such as Manchester United and Arsenal.

Earlier on Sunday, it was reported that Jose Mourinho's side were willing to pay £21m for his services.

However, Sky Sports News claims that a bid of £20m has been submitted, although Benfica's response is currently unknown.

Last season Matic was named the Primeira Liga Player of the Year.
