Chelsea are reportedly confident that Callum Hudson-Odoi will decide to pen a new long-term contract at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are reportedly confident that they can make a breakthrough in contract negotiations with Callum Hudson-Odoi.

A lack of first-team appearances during the opening half of the campaign led to frequent speculation regarding the youngster's future, with Bayern Munich known to be monitoring any developments with the teenager.

Hudson-Odoi allegedly handed in a transfer request, only to be provided with more opportunities by head coach Maurizio Sarri, and it has left the winger to contemplate where to spend the next phase of his career.

However, according to The Mirror, the Blues now feel that the England international will sign a new long-term contract at Stamford Bridge.

Hudson-Odoi is expected to miss the start of next season as he continues to recover from an Achilles injury, but that has not stopped Chelsea from continuing to show commitment towards the academy graduate.

The 18-year-old currently has just a year remaining on his existing deal.
