Chelsea close in on the signing of Real Madrid right-back Danilo after agreeing a £31m deal for the 25-year-old, according to a report.

Chelsea are reportedly nearing the signing of Real Madrid right-back Danilo.

The Premier League champions have already boosted their defence with the arrival of Antonio Rudiger from Roma, but it is understood that head coach Antonio Conte is still in the market for a new full-back.

According to Marca, Chelsea have submitted a £31m offer for Danilo, and the Blues are confident that Real Madrid will sell a player that has struggled to displace Dani Carvajal in the first XI.

Danilo, who has also been strongly linked with a move to Juventus, joined the Spanish club in a £23m move from Porto in 2015.

The 25-year-old made 24 appearances for Madrid last season, but just 17 of those came in La Liga.
