Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte says that he is not interested in trying to sign defender Giorgio Chiellini from Juventus.

Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte has dismissed suggestions that he could look to sign Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini.

Conte is in the market for new players during the January transfer window and with David Luiz being linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge, Chiellini had been suggested as a possible replacement.

However, despite having worked with the Italian international in the past, Conte says that he is not interested in trying to bring Chiellini to the Premier League.

The 48-year-old told reporters: "For the transfer market, there is speculation. We have to do the best for the team.

"I must be honest. Giorgio is a fantastic player but he'll want to finish his career at Juventus. It's right to finish his career in this way."

The 33-year-old has spent the last 12 and a half years in Turin, making a total of 453 appearances in all competitions.
