Chelsea's hopes of offloading out-of-favour striker Diego Costa during the current transfer window have received a boost following reports that Deportivo La Coruna are interested in securing his services on a short-term loan.
The Spain international's former club Atletico Madrid is believed to be his preferred destination, but they are unable to sign him until next year due to a transfer embargo.
However, Deportivo could offer Costa a stop-gap solution by signing him on loan until January, according to La Voz de Galicia.
Costa was banished from the Chelsea first team following a bust-up with manager Antonio Conte and is not expected to play for the Blues again.
The report suggests that he could move to Deportivo until early next year before completing a permanent move to Atletico when their transfer ban is lifted.
