Raul Garcia: Fernando Torres "welcome" back at Atletico Madrid

Midfielder Raul Garcia would "welcome" Chelsea striker Fernando Torres re-signing for Atletico Madrid.

Atletico Madrid midfielder Raul Garcia has insisted that Fernando Torres would be "welcome" back at the club.

The 30-year-old started his career at the Vicente Calderon, before going on to join Liverpool in 2007.

He then switched to Chelsea for £50m in January 2011, but he has struggled to rediscover the goalscoring form that he showed in Spain and at Anfield, which has resulted in speculation that he is available for transfer this summer.

Los Rojiblancos are among the clubs that have been credited with an interest in the striker and Garcia believes that he would be a useful addition.

"I speak to him [Torres] a lot and he still feels very strongly about this club," Garcia told a press conference. "His life has been defined by what he experienced here and he is another option just like any other that the media have mentioned. Any great player that can come here will be welcome."

Torres scored 91 goals in 244 appearances during his first stint with Atletico.
