Man United injury, suspension news vs. Liverpool: Red Devils to be missing at least three players at Anfield

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester United's injury and suspension news ahead of their Premier League clash with Liverpool.

Manchester United will be aiming to avoid a fifth straight defeat in all competitions when they head to Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils have lost each of their last three in England's top flight against Bournemouth, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Newcastle United without scoring, and they currently sit down in 14th spot in the Premier League table.

Ruben Amorim's side are only seven points off the relegation zone, and they will be heading to a Liverpool side that are six points clear of second-placed Arsenal at the top of the table with a game in hand.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man United's injury and suspension news ahead of their contest with Liverpool, as the two most successful clubs in English football prepare to lock horns once again.

Marcus Rashford

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Illness/personal
Possible return date: January 5 (vs. Liverpool)

Rashford has not featured in the Premier League since the start of December due to an ongoing issue regarding his behaviour, and the forward is also a major doubt for this clash due to an illness.

Victor Lindelof

Status: Out
Type of injury: Unspecified
Possible return date: Unknown

Lindelof was forced off in the first half of the recent clash with Tottenham Hotspur due to an injury problem, and the Sweden international is facing yet another spell on the sidelines.

Luke Shaw

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Shaw has only just worked his way back from a calf issue, but the England international has now picked up a hamstring problem and is set to be sidelined for several weeks; the defender has opened up on his devastation at his ongoing injury issues, but Amorim has promised to continue backing him.

Mason Mount

Status: Out
Type of injury: Unspecified
Possible return date: Unknown

Mount was again absent against Newcastle due to the problem which forced him off the field against Manchester City in the Manchester derby last month, and the Englishman is now facing "several weeks" out of action, as confirmed by head coach Amorim after the defeat to Tottenham in the EFL Cup.

MANCHESTER UNITED'S SUSPENSION LIST

Man United have no players suspended for the Premier League clash with Liverpool; Manuel Ugarte and Bruno Fernandes are set to return to the squad after missing out against Newcastle due to one-game bans.
