Diego Costa prepared to fight for starting spot at Chelsea

Diego Costa insists that he is ready to compete with Fernando Torres for a spot in the Chelsea team.

Diego Costa has insisted that he is aware he will have to fight for a place in the Chelsea side this season.

The striker's move to Stamford Bridge from Atletico Madrid was finally confirmed on Tuesday, and he was quick to praise new teammate Fernando Torres, whose starting opportunities are likely to be reduced by Jose Mourinho.

"It's always good to have competition," Costa told GloboEsporte.com. "The important thing for a big club is having great players.

"Torres is a great player, I know I will have to fight hard to be among the team but I like that. So I think it will be a clean and healthy competition."

Report have suggested that Demba Ba will be allowed to move to Besiktas on a season-long loan deal.
