Frank Lampard says that it would be a "pleasure" to continue playing alongside Didier Drogba for another season.

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard believes that Didier Drogba "deserves" a new contract at Stamford Bridge.

The future of the Ivorian has come into question in recent months as the striker nears the end of his current deal with the London club.

"I'm desperate for Didier to stay. He is a magnificent player, a machine," said Lampard. "As a man I love Didier. Whatever he decides to do, whether he stays or whatever, he will go down as a legend at Chelsea.

"For what he has done at this club he deserves everything. It would be a pleasure to carry on playing with him."

The 34-year-old netted the winning goal for the Blues in their 2-1 victory over Liverpool in the FA Cup final on Saturday.
