Maicon's agent Roberto Calenda has revealed that the player turned down offers from several clubs, including Chelsea, before his move to Manchester City.
Maicon joined Man City from Italian giants Inter Milan on transfer deadline day.
"He chose Manchester City after rather a long evaluation process," Calenda told Sky Sport Italia.
"All the top clubs who needed someone in that role came looking for Maicon, from Real Madrid via Jose Mourinho to PSG, Chelsea and others."
Maicon joined City for an undisclosed fee.
