Manchester City have completed the signing of Inter Milan full-back Maicon, according to the Italian club.
The Premier League champions have been chasing the Brazilian all summer as manager Roberto Mancini seeks reinforcements in defence.
Maicon has been at Inter since 2006 but does not appear to have a future with the Nerazzurri, who have not offered him an extension on his current one-year contract.
Inter have claimed that the transfer is completed, but City, who revealed the move was close on Thursday, have yet to confirm the deal.
Maicon, who has been capped 66 times by Brazil, would provide competition at right-back for Pablo Zabaleta and the currently injured Micah Richards.
