Jose Mourinho admits Cesc Fabregas interest

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho admits that he is interested in the prospect of signing Barcelona playmaker Cesc Fabregas.

Jose Mourinho has admitted that he is interested in the prospect of bringing Barcelona playmaker Cesc Fabregas to Chelsea this summer.

On Wednesday, Gerard Pique was overheard telling Spain coach Vicente del Bosque that the midfielder had agreed a £27m move away from Camp Nou, but failed to name a destination.

Speculation is rife that Chelsea is the unnamed club in question, and the Portuguese coach did little to allay the rumours by admitting that he is "studying" the Spaniard's situation.

"I am interested in studying Fabregas's situation," Mourinho told Yahoo.

"I think he is anxious to leave Barcelona and motivated to return to England. I think that is clear."

Arsenal are believed to have first refusal on their former captain - who they sold to the Catalans in 2011 - but are understood to have opted against re-signing the 27-year-old.
