Newcastle United keen on Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek?

Ruben Loftus-Cheek could reportedly be offered a Premier League escape route by Newcastle United for the 2017-18 campaign, having grown frustrated at Chelsea.

Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek is reportedly wanted on loan by Newcastle United ahead of their first season back in the Premier League.

The Magpies, promoted from the Championship last term at the first time of asking, are eager to strengthen across the field during the summer transfer window.

After being left frustrated by the club's failed pursuit of young Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham, the Daily Mail reports that Rafael Benitez has returned with an identical season-long loan offer for Loftus-Cheek.

It was claimed in May that the Englishman has requested a temporary move away from Stamford Bridge due to a lack of playing time, making just six appearances for the Blues in all competitions last term.

Brighton & Hove Albion are also understood to have shown an interest in Loftus-Cheek, but Newcastle are the first to make an official approach.

Nathaniel Chalobah could also be on his way out, meanwhile, as Watford remain confident of getting a transfer over the line in the coming days.
