Rafael Benitez considering Newcastle United exit?

Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez is reportedly considering leaving St James' Park after growing frustrated with the club's transfer business.

Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez has reportedly suggested that he is open to walking away from the club.

Last season, the Magpies won the Championship title to earn an immediate return to the Premier League, and it has previously been claimed that the Spaniard has a sizeable warchest at his disposal.

However, turning Christian Atsu's loan spell into a permanent stay remains the sole incoming ahead of the start of July, and according to The Sun, Benitez is growing frustrated.

The 57-year-old will allegedly contemplate a shock exit from St James' Park if further signings are not made in the near future, with the former Liverpool boss of the opinion that his side could be part of a relegation battle if he does not make several additions.

Newcastle have reportedly missed out on the loan signing of Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham, while they face competition for Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo.

Defender Florian Lejeune could arrive from Eibar, but he remains just one part of Benitez's plan to tinker with his first-team squad.
