Manchester City have not made an offer for Chelsea's Brazilian defender David Luiz, according to reports.
The Premier League champions had been linked with a £30m bid for the 25-year-old, who joined the Blues from Benfica in January 2011.
Rumours intensified when Luiz was left out of the Chelsea squad for their 4-2 victory over Reading on Wednesday, but the Champions League winners claim that he missed the match with a knee injury.
However, Sky Sports News reports that no offer has been lodged and that the Citizens are not considering an approach for the samba star.
Roberto Mancini is apparently looking for defensive reinforcements after Micah Richards was ruled out for six weeks with an ankle problem.
