A report claims that Michy Batshuayi is still on course to join Crystal Palace on loan from Chelsea, despite the deal not going through before the 11pm deadline.

Crystal Palace reportedly remain confident of getting a loan deal over the line for Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi.

The Eagles were locked in discussions with their London rivals on deadline day, supposedly after a breakdown in talks between the Blues and Tottenham Hotspur.

Despite reaching an agreement with both Chelsea and Batshuayi, however, Palace failed to complete the formalities before the 11pm cut-off point for all transfers.

However, Sky Sports News reports that Palace submitted the relevant paperwork to the Premier League and they now have an additional two hours to announce the move.

Batshuayi saw his loan stint with Valencia cut short earlier this month after netting just two goals in 21 appearances.
