Tottenham Hotspur reportedly reject the chance to sign Michy Batshuayi on loan from Chelsea after being quoted an exorbitant fee for the deal.

Tottenham Hotspur reportedly rejected the chance to sign Michy Batshuayi on loan from Chelsea during transfer deadline day.

The Blues have been trying to offload Batshuayi throughout the day, with the likes of West Ham United and Real Betis understood to have agreed deals in principle for the Belgian.

However, both clubs were put off by the striker's £160,000-a-week wage demands, leaving Chelsea to once again look for potential suitors.

Batshuayi was reportedly keen on a move to Tottenham, who will be without injured first-choice striker Harry Kane until March, but Spurs turned down a move after being quoted a bloated loan fee due to the rivalry between the two clubs.

The Mirror claims that Chelsea were demanding an £8m fee from their London rivals, whereas West Ham and Betis were only asked for a £2m sum.

Batshuayi is currently on loan at Valencia, but he has scored just three goals in 23 games for the Spanish outfit, who are eager to cut the arrangement short before the end of the season.
