Paris Saint-Germain 'to rival Chelsea for Leandro Paredes'

Paris Saint-Germain reportedly decide to rival Chelsea in the race to sign Zenit St Petersburg midfielder Leandro Paredes.

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly made an attempt to sign Zenit St Petersburg midfielder Leandro Paredes.

The 24-year-old has spent the last one-and-a-half years with Zenit - netting a total of eight goals from 55 outings - but it has been widely suggested that the Argentine appears likely to link up with Chelsea in January.

However, according to Sky In Italy, PSG have entered the race for the player's signature and an offer in the region of £31m has been made.

The report claims that talks are already underway between Paredes and the Ligue 1 giants, leaving the South American with a decision to make regarding a potential switch before the end of the month.

Zenit are allegedly keen to secure a fee of £36m for Paredes, who still has two-and-a-half years remaining on his contract.
