Christian Pulisic explains his decision to leave Chelsea earlier this summer, with the attacker making the move to AC Milan.

Christian Pulisic has said that he feels "wanted" at AC Milan, with the United States international looking to reignite his career at San Siro following a disappointing end to his time at Chelsea.

The United States international completed a move to Milan in July, with the Italian giants believed to have paid a fee in the region of £19m to sign him from Chelsea.

Pulisic made 145 appearances for the Blues after arriving from Borussia Dortmund in 2019, scoring 26 goals and registering 21 assists in the process.

The 24-year-old only managed one goal and two assists in 30 appearances for the English club last season, though, and the forward has said that it was the right time to seek pastures new.

"It wasn't necessarily one moment where it hit move, just over time and how the season went, with a year left on my contract, it felt like the right time to move for my career. At the end of the day, this move felt like a no-brainer," Pulisic told Men in Blazers.

"I spoke with the directors, I was also on a call with the coach [Stefano Pioli]. You want to get a good feel and feel like you're wanted.

"Everyone at the club made me feel like that, they gave me a really good feeling before even setting foot here.

"I spoke to all of the ex-Chelsea players, they told me the ins and outs of the club and honestly they all spoke really highly of it.

"They all made it sound like it was a great opportunity for me. I trusted them and they've helped so much with the transition as well."

Pulisic has been heavily involved for Milan during their preparations for the new campaign and could make his official debut for the club in Monday's Serie A clash with Bologna.

The forward, who has scored 25 times in 60 appearances for his country, made 127 appearances for German giants Dortmund before arriving at Chelsea.

Manchester United were among the clubs to be linked with a loan move for Pulisic in January, but he finished last season at Stamford Bridge before leaving permanently over the summer.

There have been huge changes at Chelsea this summer, with head coach Mauricio Pochettino overseeing a number of players both leaving and arriving at the club.

Milan, meanwhile, have brought six new players to San Siro, with Samuel Chukwueze, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Yunus Musah, Tijjani Reijnders and Noah Okafor also moving to the club.
