Ramires urges Chelsea to re-sign midfielder Nemanja Matic

Ramires says that Chelsea should re-sign Benfica midfielder Nemanja Matic.

Chelsea have been told to re-sign Nemanja Matic by current Blues player Ramires.

Matic left Stamford Bridge for Benfica in 2011 as part of the agreement that saw David Luiz go the other way. Since then he has impressed various onlookers, including Manchester United.

In November it was reported that his club had placed a £20m valuation on his head in an attempt to discourage any prospective bidders.

However, Ramires says that Chelsea should bring Matic back as his quality could help them win silverware.

"If it depends on me then I would sign Matic on January 1. I'm convinced with him in the team, he would help us our obtain our objectives," Ramires told Portuguese newspaper Ojogo.

Matic failed to make a single first-team start in his one season at Stamford Bridge.
