Chelsea will reportedly move for Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Brad Friedel if Petr Cech departs Stamford Bridge this summer.
Cech was widely linked with a move away from the Blues in January after losing his first-team spot to Thibaut Courtois this season.
Chelsea managed to retain the Czech international, but it is understood that Cech will seek regular football this summer.
According to The Telegraph, experienced American Friedel has been identified by the Premier League leaders as the perfect replacement.
Friedel, 43, has been with Spurs since 2011, but is now seen as the London club's third-choice goalkeeper.
While Friedel would be used sparingly at Chelsea, it is thought that Jose Mourinho wants the American's experience to help the progression of Courtois.
