Chelsea have reportedly reignited their interest in Bayer Leverkusen forward Andre Schurrle.
The Blues are understood to have attempted to sign the 22-year-old during the summer, but they were unable to complete a deal before the transfer window closed at the end of August.
According to The Mirror, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich remains keen on bringing Schurrle to Stamford Bridge and new manager Rafa Benitez has approved the Russian's plans to bid for the player again in January.
Schurrle, who has been capped 18 times by Germany at senior international level, has scored three goals in 14 Bundesliga appearances this season.
