Fernando Torres feels that his trophy haul since moving to Chelsea justifies his decision to join the club.

The Spaniard left Liverpool for a Premier League record of £50m in January 2011 and has struggled at times to live up to the price tag.

However, the former Reds striker has lifted the Europa League, FA Cup and Champions League since his transfer to London, and the former Atletico Madrid captain feels that he made the right choice to switch to Stamford Bridge.

"My decision to come to Chelsea has been vindicated by the medals I have won," The Mirror quotes him as saying. "Not everything has been as bad as people have said. I am happy for this season and winning trophies with Chelsea, that's what I wanted to do when I joined.

"I am feeling more important than in the past, so I think the future will be even better. When you are involved and you feel you are an important part of the team, you feel much better.

"Sometimes you need to win that feeling in games like the Europa League final, so, hopefully, it can be something to build on."

The Blues entertain Everton this afternoon.
