Thomas Tuchel says that Chelsea will need to act decisively in the transfer market when a takeover by Todd Boehly's consortium is made official.

Head coach Thomas Tuchel has acknowledged that Chelsea will not waste any time in trying to sign new players once a takeover of the club is made official.

Due to government-imposed restrictions, the Blues have been unable to negotiate any incomings or contract renewals, and that is a solution which will not be resolved until a consortium led by Todd Boehly purchases the top-flight club.

If all goes to plan, the Premier League and government will give the green light to the new ownership before the end of the month, and Tuchel says that he plans to delay any holidays to strengthen his squad.

Speaking to reporters after Sunday's 2-1 win over Watford, Tuchel said: "No I can't go on holiday, no. There is too much to clarify and have an opinion. Of course, you can have meetings on zoom, but the first days I will be here and around because my children are in school so we will start with a delay on the holidays.

"We have to act as quickly as possible. Our hands our tied. We have clear ideas for the profiles and characteristics of the players, but it's not like we put a name on the list and we get a player. You have to convince the players and speak to clubs."

Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen will depart Stamford Bridge on free transfers, while Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso may also leave the West Londoners over the coming months.
