Conference Premier roundup: Woking go second

Sports Mole rounds up Tuesday evening's action in the Conference Premier as Woking move into second place with a 2-0 win over Altrincham.

Woking have moved into second place in the Conference Premier table after registering a 2-0 win over Altrincham on Tuesday night.

After a goalless first half, Jack Marriott and Scott Rendell struck after the break to take their side to within seven points of leaders Barnet.

Bristol Rovers have moved into third after drawing 0-0 at 10-man Wrexham, but it was an impressive result for the visitors who had defender Mark McChrystal take over duties between the posts after an injury to Steve Mildenhall.

Halifax Town had Scott Boden to thank after his early goal proved enough to beat Forest Green Rovers at The Shay, while Gateshead have progressed up to seventh after a 2-1 success away at Alfreton Town, who remain six points from safety.

Kidderminster Harriers remain in contention for the playoffs with a 3-1 victory against Nuneaton Town, who remain four points clear of bottom side AFC Telford United after they slipped to a 2-0 defeat at Chester FC.

Dover Athletic netted twice in the final 15 minutes to draw with Torquay United, while goals from Jack Midson and Michael Green earned Eastleigh a 2-0 win over Dartford.
