Jim O'Brien makes Coventry City move

Midfielder Jim O'Brien leaves Barnsley to sign a two-year deal with Coventry City.

Coventry City have completed the signing of Barnsley midfielder Jim O'Brien on a two-year deal.

O'Brien rejected the opportunity to remain at Oakwell after four years with the Tykes, which allowed Coventry boss Steven Pressley to step in to sign the Irishman.

Pressley told the club's official website: "He is a player of proven Championship quality and his energy, work-rate and team ethic along with that quality makes him a perfect fit for us."

O'Brien joins Peterborough midfielder Danny Swanson in making the move to the Sky Blues.
