Steve Davis keen to continue Crewe Alexandra improvement

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis claims that it is important for the club to earn a win when they face Gillingham this weekend.

Crewe Alexandra manager Steve Davis has said that it is important for his side to return to winning ways when they face Gillingham this weekend.

The Railwaymen's 1-1 draw with Oldham Athletic last week means that they have failed to win any of their last three League One matches.

Ahead of facing the league's bottom club on Saturday, Davis has said that his side must pick up a victory soon.

"We want to be winning our home games and give our fans something to cheer about," he told Crewe's official website.

"We want to build that confidence through winning games and we want to get back to winning our home games. I was pleased with the response of the players at Oldham. They put a real shift in and we got a deserved point.

"I want to take that work ethic into Saturday's game and I am excited to see how we do against Gillingham."

Crewe currently sit 17th in the table.
