Alan Pardew: 'Win was just like watching Brazil'

Alan Pardew says that it was 'just like watching Brazil' after his Crystal Palace side thrashed Sunderland 4-1.

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has echoed his supporters by claiming that it was 'just like watching Brazil' after his side crushed Sunderland at the Stadium of Light this afternoon.

Glenn Murray scored the opener before an 11-minute hat-trick from Yannick Bolasie sparked a mass exodus from the home fans, just six days after their derby victory over Newcastle United.

Pardew believes that his side could have won by even more in a display which gives Palace their seventh away win in eight games.

Speaking to BBC Sport after the match, he said: "Our fans were singing 'it's like watching Brazil', and it was today. We were terrific and we caused Sunderland a lot of problems.

"It was an emphatic win and the scoreline didn't even do us justice. We had so many chances. We were great and that's seven away wins out of eight games - at a professional level that's unbelievable."

The win means Palace maintain their hopes of a top-half finish, while Sunderland are sitting precariously above the relegation spots in 16th place.
