Crystal Palace striker Aaron Wilbraham wants to win the Championship playoff final and promotion to the Premier League for injured teammate Glenn Murray.

Crystal Palace striker Aaron Wilbraham hopes that the club can win their playoff final clash and achieve promotion to the Premier League for injured teammate Glenn Murray.

Wilbraham replaced Murray in the Eagles lineup and is expected to start against Watford at Wembley after the 29-year-old injured his knee in their first-leg game with Brighton & Hove Albion.

Wilbraham told the club's official website: "Obviously Glenn is disappointed and I think the lads are disappointed for him.

"It's a shame because he has scored all those goals that helped get us to that position in the league, so we'll be trying to get the right result for ourselves and for Glenn on the day.

"Getting to the Premier League would be unbelievable – that's what all the lads want and everyone in the league wanted at the start of the season. Now we have a chance to do it. We've got a 50-50 chance in the final and we'll be doing all we can to win it."

Palace take on Watford on Monday at Wembley as they seek promotion to the Premier League.
