Crystal Palace close in on top four with late win at Stoke City

Lee Chung-Yong's late winner gives Crystal Palace a 2-1 win at Stoke City and moves the Eagles level on points with fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.

Only goal difference separates Crystal Palace from the Premier League's top four following a late win over Stoke City this afternoon.

Alan Pardew's Eagles have now won 11 of their last 16 away league games thanks to Lee Chung-Yong's 88th-minute rasper that flew into the net to seal the points.

The visitors took the lead from the penalty spot on the stroke of half time after Glenn Whelan clipped Yannick Bolasie in the area. With Yohan Cabaye absent, Connor Wickham stepped up and slammed home from 12 yards for his first Palace goal.

Stoke's equaliser was also a penalty, 15 minutes from time, that Bojan dispatched for his fourth goal of the season after Damien Delaney handled in the box.

Lee's late winner arrived after Stoke half-cleared a corner that he fizzed back goalwards, with Jack Butland unable to prevent it finding the top left-hand corner of the net.

Palace remain sixth, despite the win, but they are level on points with both Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United above them, while Stoke stay 11th.
