Crystal Palace put contract talks with players on hold

Crystal Palace manager Tony Pulis suggests that the future of certain players will not be discussed until the fate of the club is decided at the end of the season.

Crystal Palace manager Tony Pulis has suggested that the club will not tie down any current players to new contracts until they know which league they will be playing in next season.

The Eagles are currently two points adrift of the relegation zone in the Premier League table with 11 games left to play.

Defenders Damien Delaney and Jonathan Parr, as well as midfielder Mike Jedinak and goalkeeper Julian Speroni, are out of contract at the end of the season.

"There are quite a few players who are out of contract," BBC Sport quotes Pulis as saying. "I think the situation is that we don't know whether we're going to be a Premier League side or a Championship side at the moment, so it's difficult to start any sort of negotiations because you have to work off two different pages."

Palace will take on Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium on Sunday.
