Steve Parish: 'Crystal Palace close to signing new striker'

Steve Parish announces that Crystal Palace are close to landing a new striker before the 11pm transfer deadline.

Crystal Palace co-chairman Steve Parish has revealed that the club are close to completing the loan signing of a new striker.

The Eagles secured the double signing of Zeki Fryers and James McArthur earlier tonight, but one more player is still to come in at Selhurst Park before the 11pm deadline.

"We've agreed a deal for a striker," Parish told BBC Sport. "They're at the training ground now trying to finish it. He has played in the Premier League but he's not currently at a Premier League side. We're bringing him in on loan. You will know who he is in about an hour's time."

Palace have previously been linked with Andrew Johnson and Florent Malouda.
