Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish plays down links to Andrew Johnson

Crystal Palace have no plans to bring experienced striker Andrew Johnson back to the club this summer, chairman Steve Parish reveals.

Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has played down the possibility of bringing Andrew Johnson back to the club.

The experienced striker was linked strongly with a move to Selhurst Park when Ian Holloway was at the helm, with an agreement in principle failing to materialise.

However, Parish has revealed that he does not see Tony Pulis moving for Johnson this summer.

"I am not sure, you'd have to ask the manager," Parish told the Croydon Advertiser.

"Andy is not someone we've spoken about. I think maybe that was one for last year and that has now passed us by.

"It has probably gone now, unfortunately."

Palace already have Marouane Chamakh, Dwight Gayle, Glenn Murray and new boy Fraizer Campbell in their forward ranks.
