Dwayne De Rosario struck a first-half brace as D.C. United recorded a comfortable 3-1 win over Toronto at R.F.K. Stadium.
The 2011 MLS MVP opened the scoring within 60 seconds of kick-off, nodding in a Branko Boskovic free kick from close range.
De Rosario doubled his side's advantages two minutes before half time, sweeping a Chris Korb cross into the bottom left corner.
Danny Koevermans started United nerves jangling as he bundled home from Julian de Guzman's free kick after 71 minutes.
However, Hamdi Salihi eased the pressure on the hosts moments later by firing into the top corner after being set up by Andy Najar.
Toronto have now lost all nine of their MLS matches.
