Toronto 0-2 DC United

DC United come away with all three points against Toronto in a 2-0 win at BMO Field.

D.C. United have kept the pressure on Kansas City with a 2-0 victory over Toronto FC.

The best chance of a tight first 45 minutes fell to Perry Kitchen, but he guided his header wide of the mark.

The game opened up more in the second half and the visitors took the lead through Chris Pontius. His left-footed shot from outside the area beat Milos Kocic and found the top left corner.

Totonto began to exert pressure on the DC goal but found their defence in resilient form.

DC doubled their advantage in the 75th minute when Hamdi Salihi slotted home after gathering Brandon McDonald's flick on from Stephen King's lofted ball.

Late chances went begging for Toronto, with Julian de Guzman, Doneil Henry and Eric Avila all squandering opportunities to get on the scoresheet.
