Doncaster Rovers lost 2-1 to Rotherham United at the Keepmoat Stadium this afternoon a week ahead of the new Football League season.
Rotherham took the lead through Matt Derbyshire, who controlled a Joe Skarz cross and reacted quickest to poke home from close range on 52 minutes.
The lead was doubled five minutes later when Lee Frecklington beat the offside trap and crossed for Ryan Hall, who finished deftly on the half volley.
The hosts pulled one back on 82 minutes as Curtis Main raced into the box and lifted the ball over the onrushing Scott Loach, though it was too little too late for The Vikings.
