Dundee manager Barry Smith is to meet with club officials later this week to discuss his future with the Scottish Premier League outfit.

The Dark Blues are rooted to the foot of the division following their 1-0 defeat at St Johnstone but a decision about Smith's future has yet to be finalised, BBC Sport reports.

Smith, who has been with the Dens Park side since 2010, remained upbeat following Dundee's latest defeat and insisted that he is up for the relegation scrap.

"I'm definitely still getting all the workrate and I know the players are working hard," he said. "No-one likes to be in this position. We've been through a lot of hard times at Dundee and this is just another one.

"But I'm up for the fight and I'm up for the challenge and I'll make sure that I give everything I've got to make sure we stay in this league."

Dundee finished in second place in the Scottish First Division last season, but Rangers' financial collapse saw them promoted to the top flight.
