Danny Welbeck hails "perfect start" to England's Euro 2016 qualifying campaign

Danny Welbeck hails England's "perfect start" to their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign after scoring a brace to sink Switzerland.

Danny Welbeck has insisted that England need to continue working hard after winning their opening Euro 2016 qualifier against Switzerland.

The new Arsenal forward found the back of the net twice to help earn the Three Lions a 2-0 victory in Basel.

"I enjoy playing further up the pitch," Welbeck told TheFA.com. "That's well known and when I get my opportunity I am just looking to take it.

"Thankfully I got the two goals but it is credit to the whole team really with the way we played, the way we attacked.

"It was the perfect start to the qualifiers, but we need to carry this on now and make sure we prepare for every single game tactically and mentally."

Welbeck started the game after Daniel Sturridge was ruled out with a thigh injury.
