Sam Allardyce has not been contacted by the Football Association over the vacant England manager's post, according to reports.
Speculation earlier today suggested that the Sunderland boss had been invited for an interview by the FA later this week as it steps up its search for Roy Hodgson's successor.
However, PA claims that the 61-year-old has not been contacted and is unaware of any scheduled meeting with the FA.
Allardyce is one of the leading candidates for the role alongside United States boss Jurgen Klinsmann and Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe.
The Black Cats boss, who was also interviewed for the job 10 years ago before Steve McClaren's appointment, only signed a new two-year deal at the Stadium of Light in October.
England are looking for a new manager following their humiliating Euro 2016 exit at the hands of minnows Iceland.
