Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is keen to follow in his father's footsteps by beating Brazil at the Maracana with England on Sunday.

Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is determined to maintain his family's good reputation in Brazil when they face England at the Maracana on Sunday.

The 19-year-old's father Mark Chamberlain was part of the Three Lions side who defeated the Brazilians 2-0 at the stadium back in 1984.

Oxlade-Chamberlain, who is likely to start at the weekend, is keen to follow in his father's footsteps in South America.

"I'm looking forward to getting there and seeing what it's all about," Oxlade-Chamberlain told Sky Sports News.

"Hopefully I get a chance to play, with what my dad has done out there it adds a bit more history and a bit more of a proud feeling to be out there.

"He's not told me what to expect. If I asked what it's like he would tell me, but he has not made a big fuss. I asked him once how he did and he just said he had a pretty good game."

The two countries meet at the Maracana on Sunday.
