FA chairman Greg Dyke confirms Glenn Hoddle role

FA chairman Greg Dyke confirms that Glenn Hoddle will be given a role on his commission.

Football Association chairman Greg Dyke has confirmed that Glenn Hoddle has joined the governing body's newly-formed commission.

Reports emerged overnight claiming that the former England coach would be given a role within Dyke's commission following a number of meetings with the chairman.

The 66-year-old has also revealed at the Leaders in Football conference at Stamford Bridge that the Premier League chose not to be part of the commission.

"Glenn Hoddle is going to be on the commission and we will name some more people today. We haven't finished," said Dyke.

"The Premier League didn't want to be on it. They were very helpful and will help all they can but didn't want to be on commission itself. I disagree but I can understand why."

Dyke has also criticised the FA's disciplinary department for failing to take retrospective action against Chelsea's Fernando Torres for scratching the face of Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen.
