Sam Allardyce 'attacks Roy Hodgson, Gary Neville'

England manager Sam Allardyce is caught on camera appearing to insult his predecessor Roy Hodgson and assistant Gary Neville.

England manager Sam Allardyce has been filmed appearing to slate his predecessor Roy Hodgson and assistant Gary Neville.

In an investigation by The Telegraph into corruption at the highest levels of football, Allardyce was secretly filmed talking to two reporters posing as businessmen.

On Hodgson's methods with the England squad and their underwhelming performance at Euro 2016, Allardyce is reported to have said: "He'd send them all to sleep, Roy. Woy. He hasn't got the personality for it.

"Players let him down in the end. I think maybe he, he was too indecisive. Cast a bit of an anxiety over to the players maybe. I mean prior to the Iceland game, he won all 10 qualifiers. We'd drawn with Russia, we should have won. We beat Wales, and that was our worst performance. We drew with Slovakia, and we only had to draw with Iceland to get through ... he just collapsed."

Allardyce went on to criticise Neville for his lengthy discussion with Hodgson about whether to bring on Marcus Rashford during the final Euros game with Iceland.

"They were arguing for 10 minutes about bringing him on, him and Gary Neville," he said. "So Gary was the wrong influence for him. Fucking tell Gary to sit down and shut up, so you can do what you want. You're the manager, you do what you want, not what anyone else [wants]."

Allardyce took over at the national side in July.
