Jamie Vardy "happy" to play anywhere for England manager Roy Hodgson

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy admits that he will play anywhere for England manager Roy Hodgson.

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has admitted that he is willing to play in any position for England manager Roy Hodgson.

The 29-year-old impressed during the international break by scoring in last Saturday's 3-2 victory over Germany and in last night's 2-1 defeat to the Netherlands.

At Wembley on Tuesday night, Vardy was handed the No.10 shirt, which is usually worn by captain Wayne Rooney but the Manchester United forward was ruled out with a knee injury.

"It's massive competition and that means everyone will be trying that extra one or two per cent, that's important in games," the Daily Mail quotes Vardy as saying.

"I have to play wherever the manager wants. I'm perfectly happy to play in whatever system he has got ready for that game. We played with two up top and I'm down the middle and we changed at the weekend from when I came on up top. Wherever the boss wants me to play, I will put in 110 per cent."

Vardy will be vying with Rooney, Harry Kane, Danny Welbeck and Daniel Sturridge for a place in Hodgson's lineup at Euro 2016 in France.
