Frank Lampard to decide England future after World Cup

England midfielder Frank Lampard reveals that he will make a decision regarding his international future after this summer's World Cup.

England midfielder Frank Lampard has revealed that he will make a decision regarding his international future after this summer's World Cup.

The Chelsea man is just two weeks shy of his 36th birthday and has been linked with a move to newly-formed MLS side New York City this summer, having confirmed that he will leave Stamford Bridge at the end of his current contract.

Having won 103 caps for his country in a distinguished 15-year international career, Lampard admitted that the upcoming World Cup could be his swansong, but insists that he will wait until after the tournament to make a final decision.

"It looks that way. It is hard. I find it hard to get the words out to say that it is because I am very proud to play for my country and I've loved every minute," Lampard told reporters.

"So who knows what will happens and I'd rather comment on that after, to be honest. We'll see. Let's hope we have a big, successful World Cup and then I will comment on that afterwards."

Lampard will captain England for tomorrow's World Cup warm-up match against Ecuador in Miami.
